HOW TO CALCULATE THE TIME NEEDED TO GRIND A ROLL

L=length of roll
T=grinding time(seconds)

  1. Measure the length of roll face to be ground........MM.
  2. Set the spindle speed of the lathe........RPM.
  3. Set the feed speed of the tool carriage........MM/SEC.
  4. Use timer to measure the time needed for tool carriage to move 100 MM.
    N=seconds
  5. Divide by 100 and multiply by N to get total grinding time T=L/100 x N(Total grinding time in seconds)
  6. Input the total grinding time T by time setting switch on the control panel.The range is 60 to 60,000 secinds.

EXAMPLE:
n=120 seconds
t=2000/100 x 120=2400 seconds

EXAMPLE:
o~96 SECONDS
100 MM = 96 SECONDS
1 MM = 0.96 SECONDS
GRINDING TIME 0.96 x 2500 = 2400 SECONDS
